The Arabesque Guitar Duo was born from the shared vision of Andrea Rinaudo and Alberto Lauro to transform their passionate musical ideas into a collaborative, meta-guitar project.
The ensemble took shape in the winter of 2023, following the recording of “Ensemble Counterpoint Margola: Chamber Sonatas for Guitar” (Brilliant Classics, 2024).
Currently, they are dedicated to transcribing and arranging some of the most iconic works of 20th-century piano repertoire. This endeavor marks a new chapter in their creative journey, following years of projects and explorations across diverse musical genres.
In a rhythmic and colorful journey, the Arabesque Guitar Duo draws the listener into a nearly unorthodox musical experience.
Through their arrangements of some of the greatest masterpieces of 20th-century piano music, they uncover new tonal possibilities and shades within these works using the six strings of the guitar.
Their meticulous approach to transcription involves delving deeply into the composers’ scores, seeking out both the obvious and subtle connections between the notes.
In a delicate interplay of color and mutual understanding, Andrea Rinaudo and Alberto Lauro aim to bring the charm and mystery of the chamber music dimension to a repertoire inherently designed for solo performance—one defined by interplay, synergy, and exchange.
