BIO

The Arabesque Guitar Duo is a guitar duo formed by Andrea Rinaudo and Alberto Lauro.

The ensemble specializes in the transcription and arrangement of some of the twentieth century’s greatest piano masterpieces.

The duo was founded in the winter of 2023, following the recording sessions for the album Margola: Chamber Sonatas for Guitar by Ensemble Counterpoint (Brilliant Classics, 2024).

They made their concert debut in December of the same year at the OttoFinestre Gallery in Turin.

Among the institutions and organizations they have performed for are the Fondazione per la Cultura di Torino, the Fondazione CRS of Saluzzo, and the Accademia della Liuteria Piemontese.

In 2025, they published a critical edition of Franco Margola’s Sonata dC 661 with Musica Practica (Voglino Editrice). In the same year, they released two music videos with Siccas Guitars: C. Debussy’s Arabesque No. 1 (transcribed by Andrea Rinaudo) and Erik Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 1 (transcribed by Alberto Lauro).

They are currently focusing on composers such as E. Satie, C. Debussy and B. Bartók, exploring new interpretative perspectives through the sound possibilities of the guitar.
